Coffee in north goa

Part coffee shop, part patisserie at 1282 Gauwadi, Anjuna, opened 2019 by self-taught bakers Anant and Karishma. Daily breads, bagels and tarts alongside millet-milk cappuccinos and pour-overs; pours Halflight, Gshot and Kokoro.

Minimal brunch bar at Casa Esmeralda, Gaum Wadi, Mapusa Road, Anjuna, 9am to 5.30pm. Known for the brew and the detail — coordinates on the wall, the menu written across a mirror — with a dense chocolate loaf and morning buns to go with it.

All-day roastery and cafe in a garden at H. No 436, Socol Vaddo, Assagao, open since 2018. Roasts Indian estate beans and pours them as Aeropress and its own Hindustani Cold Coffee; Babka is one of the Anjuna cafes serving its roasts.

Coffee house and North Indian kitchen at House No. 1571, Chivar, Bardez, Anjuna. Pet friendly, with parking — an all-day room rather than a counter.

Women-led cafe at House 9A-1A, Igroz Vaddo, Siolim, behind grainy walls and coconut trees. Pours coffee from the seven sisters of the northeast, bakes its own cookies, and keeps a lounge at the back for deep work.

The specialty brand's Assagao house: a coffee-forward boutique hotel called Unseen, built around a roastery, a coffee bar and a coffee cocktail bar. Coffee Culture has been roasting since 2004.
